Effects of SA-MA-TANG on the Motility of Isolated Rabit Intestine

Abstract
|
|
|
The study was carried out to investigate the effect of SA-MA-TANG on the contractile force of intestine and to elucidate its mechanism.
The results of this study were as follows;
1. Preparation of isolated rabbit intestine was suspended in the oxygented Krebs-Henseleite bicatbonate buffer solution at 37℃ and recorded the developed tension by the drugs with the isometric transducer(Narco F-60). The resting tension was approximately 0.5g.
2. The response of isolated rabbit intestine to SA-MA-TANG extract was contraction in effective doses.
3. Atropine significantly inhibited the contractile respons of isolated rabbit intestine to SA-MA-TANG extract.
4. Pheniramine maleate and cyproheptadine significantly inhibited the contractile response of isolated rabbit intestine to SA-MA-TANG extract.
